Kelli Holtz seemed destined to become an interior designer: Her grandfather was an architect and her dad built custom homes, so Holtz grew up drawing furniture and spatial plans, and, of course, rearranging the furniture in her house. In 2010, she founded Holtz Design Studio to bring "focused, thoughtful and unique interior design" to the Vail Valley. She composes timeless aesthetics, which may include current trends but certainly aren't defined by them.
Her design process differs with the taste of each client, but she tends to tell - and show her clients' stories through the design.
"It's just an extension of their life story," she says.
She guides homeowners through the process of choosing home furnishings as she presents various options so they can select the best items that reflect their own personality and lifestyle.
"I get to know them, their family and their background," Holtz says. "We target their interests and what sparks excitement in them. We look at what they like to wear and colors that inspire them. How you might build a wardrobe is how you might look to build a design scheme in your home."
